Rhea's work focuses broadly on media effects and well-being. Past research has examined the impact of highly visual social media (HVSM) on mental health and the effects of Covid-19 on LGBTQ+ youth. Currently, Rhea is investigating how fans engage with and are influenced by their chosen media, specifically within the context of morbid media (such as true crime).
